Welcome

The Interdisciplinary Sciences to Learn about Autism (ISLA) Network is proud to be an NIH Autism Center of Excellence.

ISLA has been following a cohort of autistic individuals for approximately 17 years, many of whom started as kids and are now adults. We are now transitioning to the study of aging in autistic adults.

Physical and Biological Measures

We collect diagnostic assessments, biological blood markers, and physical and health measures to investigate healthy aging and well-being.

Neuropsychological Assessment

Thorough neuropsychological assessments, questionnaires, and interviews over the course of several timepoints allow us to examine research questions related to individual clinical, health, and cognitive changes over time.

Social Determinants of Health

We investigate social determinants of health by considering environmental, sociocultural, and health system domains of influence.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

We use structural and functional imaging to collect longitudinal measurements to investigate potential markers of autism severity, mental health and clinical health outcomes.
